A T. Rex Named Sue
A Cast of Sue Makes its Overseas Debut in Japan!

Sue is the star attraction of Dinosaur Expo 2005: The Evolution of Theropods from Dinosaurs to Birds, a 11,000 ft2 (1,000 m2) exhibition that opens at the National Science Museum in Tokyo on March 18, 2005 and will travel to Nagoya, Osaka, and Kitakyushu through April 2006. The Expo is expected to draw 1 million visitors in Japan.

Organized by Asahi Shimbun, a well-known Japanese media company with a tradition of bringing foreign exhibitions to Japan, Dinosaur Expo marks the first international presentation of a cast of Sue.

Sue is the largest, most complete, and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever found, and the real bones of the dinosaur remain on permanent display at The Field Museum. The completely assembled skeleton of Sue was unveiled at The Field Museum on May 17, 2000, and since that time, more than 7 million visitors have seen Sue in Chicago.

In addition, The Field Museum made two cast models of Sue that form the centerpiece of two 3,000-square-foot traveling exhibitions featuring hands-on interactives, videos and T. rex science. A T. rex Named Sue has been extremely popular – attracting a total of over 3.7 million visitors at 27 museums throughout the United States.

Please contact the Traveling Exhibitions Marketing Manager to inquire about hosting AT. rex Named Sue internationally, and see the Sue tour schedule for further information about exhibition dates and locations.
